Half the population will have a mental health disorder by age 75.
Researchers examined data from more than 150,000 adults in 29 different countries between 2001 and 2022, and the findings showed that mental health issues are highly prevalent, with 50% of the population experiencing at least one condition by the age of 75.
The most common mental health disorders in women are depression, specific phobias, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). For men, the most common are alcohol abuse, depression, and specific phobias.
Realizing that half the population will have a mental health disorder by the time they are 75 is staggering, though. It also puts a lot into perspective. The prevalence and existence of mental health disorders in people are growing. Not because more people are getting it, but because people are becoming more comfortable talking about it. Mental health disorders are common and not something to be looked down upon. The solution to breaking the stigma about mental health is to talk about it. Make it common, not something to be ashamed of or hidden.

"When I first came to Dr. Park, I was very reserved & I didn't know what to think, much less how this was all going to work out? Well, I've been with Dr. Park for close to 10 years now & I couldn't imagine where I would have been or be without him. He is without exception the best doctor I've ever had the privilege of seeing. Dr. Park not only listens, but he also understands, and he works with you to get through your problem. He doesn't condemn or judge you, not once has he ever belittled me, or any problem &/or situation I may have, he understands life & has a huge heart. I know he has truly made a great difference in my life, from my career to my family life, & more, he's shown, & given, me a great deal of guidance & clarity. I would absolutely 1000% recommend Dr. Park to anyone. Once you meet him it will be self-evident, I think he's truly one of a kind & I'm grateful..."
